Two PA
Lifters make Junior World Team in Bulgaria
Erik Steiner and
Jason Beck have both qualified for the 2001 IPF
Junior World Championships held this year in
Bulgaria. The International Powerlifting
Federation otherwise known as the IPF is the
largest powerlifting organization in the World.
It's common to
have over 30 countries represented at IPF World
Championships. Each class being stacked with the
best lifters imaginable. Each being considered
the top Junior lifter in their country. Only 11
men in the United States are selected to go lift
at this contest and Erik and Jason are among that
11.
A
little bit about these guys:
Erik Steiner a
2000 Penn State graduate and a member and founder
of the Penn State Powerlifting Club. Erik is the thrid member in three
years from PSU to make the IPF Junior World Team.
He will be lifting in the 242 pound class.
Jason Beck from
the Slippery Rock Powerlifting Club was the 2001 USAPL Collegiate National
Champion and he is going to be lifting in the 198
pound class.
I am very proud of
these two guys accomplishments and I have setup
an on-line method for people to donate to their
lifting expenses. These type of lifters are what
Pennsylvania Powerlifting is all about. Please
give what you can!!
